But just like the NFL, fantasy football comes with its own jargon, abbreviations, and slang.

This newfangled language can be intimidating to newcomers. And truth be told, it sometimes befuddles fantasy veterans!

So, I have decided to create this fantasy football glossary to clear-up much of the confusion. But unlike other dictionary-type pages, we’re going to go a bit deeper.

You can use this glossary to look up any fantasy football terms or abbrevaitions that you haven’t come across. These are often the most difficult designation to plan for in fantasy football because the decision will not be made until just before kickoff (the same time that rosters become locked).

General Manager

In fantasy football, the <g class="gr_ gr_84 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace" id="84" data-gr-id="84">general</g> manager is an alternative name for the league commissioner.

Ghost Ship

A ghost ship is a fantasy football team that has been abandoned mid-season by their owner.
